In the three year old classes, as well as in our other classes, children learn
through play. Hands on, developmentally appropriate activities encourage active
exploration and experimentation, and promote learning in a safe and nurturing
environment.
Daily centers include the block center, dramatic play center, art center, play
dough center, writing center, reading center, science/discovery center,
water/sand table center, and small manipulative center. Throughout the day activities include group time, center time, snack time,
outside play (weather permitting), gym play, lunch time, music, and Spanish.
Threes learn to become more independent. They learn to work independently and
with others, to use materials appropriately, to express themselves, and they
begin to realize that reading and writing are useful. Most importantly they
learn through play.
There are no more than 16 students with 2 teachers in each three year old class.
