Children of all ages learn through play. Hands on, developmentally appropriate
activities encourage active exploration and experimentation, and promote
learning in a safe and nurturing environment.
The SK classes are very hands-on. We learn by doing! Centers include the block
center, dramatic play center, art center, play dough center, writing center,
reading center, science/discovery center, computer center, snack center,
water/sand table center, and small manipulative center. Children work on skills
such as alphabet and numeral recognition, writing the alphabet and numerals,
phonics, reading, rhyming, creative writing, adding, subtracting, and
patterning. The Sr. Kindergarten is licensed by the state of TN. Department of
Education.
The SK class typically has 20 children with 2 teachers. There are two classrooms
used with different activities available in each room.
